The Rex McDowell family is making the transition from language students to full-time missionaries. As expected they are experiencing the various problems that plague missionaries all over the world. Their van broke down and the transmission needs some work. They are working with nationals and planting the seeds for church growth. Rex writes in an email the following:
My little family has still been trying to transition from being “language students” to being “missionaries” and it hasn’t been particularly easy. So I spent a good part of the day sorting through different things, getting caught up from our time in the States, and writing thank-you letters. In the morning a mechanic from a nearby transmission shop came with a flatbed and picked up our van.On Tues. morning I caught a morning bus out to Cartago and spent a good bit of the day having a planning-for-the-future meeting with Rolando. We started with a good time of prayer and our time together was very profitable.
Please pray for Rex and Missy as they continue their work for the Lord in a new way.
