National Chairman of Faith Church in
Egypt, Saied Ibriham, called J.Stevan Manley at 9:00 PM Sunday, January
30, 2011. He stated that as of that time all of the believers in the
Faith Churches were safe and so were the church buildings. He is very
concerned about the many criminals who are now armed and out of prison.
These men are very dangerous. He is also very troubled about the
property in the desert known as “Prayer Mountain”. This is a retreat
center and the fence is only about 2/3 completed. He is going to do his
best to quickly get the remaining 1/3 completed to protect the property.
Please pray that God will supply the funds and protection needed at
“Prayer Mountain”.

Good morning Las Americas…
Welcome to the 2011 school year here in Jalapa! There are 14 resident students in the Bible Institute with over 100 enrolled in the various extension centers across the country. Brothers Francisco Orozco and Misael Galvez are the main teachers with other pastors coming in to teach various resident and extension courses. In La Esperanza Bilingual Academy, only 27 students are again enrolled this year because of lack of space for more kindergartners. We appreciate your continued prayer for this need of property sufficient for a school K-12.
This year, I have also started Abeka ESL (English as a Second Language) with all the Academy students as well as a class for the teachers. Along with our three national teachers, we have two more ladies that are taking the ESL course to be teachers which is very exciting for us. Shari is my helper this year which means we are teaching together for the first time in our 36 years of marriage. That is a real privilege for both of us.
It was a very busy week with preaching at the Institute for the first week of chapels from Tuesday through Friday plus starting up the ESL classes.
God is giving strength to Mandy (and her parents!) as she recuperates. We also thank the Lord for keeping the rest of us free from mono and giving grace to start the year with His presence.
May He continue to give each one of you strength for your days!
