Lee Rickenbach writes that the roof project is really shaping up well.
“Here in Jalapa, the Lord has blessed us with clear days this last week and a good roof crew. Our apartment and the porch roof is on. Today they do the east apartment and then the garage and small roof between the apts by Thursday. Hopefully, by Sat. all the siding and extras will be finished.
The crew comes early 7:00 and work sometimes until 6:00, so with moving panels from the Academy patio over and keeping an eye on things in general we’ve had full days.. but sooooo thankful for all the progress being made.”
Praise the Lord. The Rickenbach’s will truly be thankful for a roof over their heads on Thanksgiving.

The Middletons write that as soon as they arrived in the Dominican Republic they were busy with lots to do. However, as you will read below, there are many needy people from all walks of life. AND – the missionary has to be prepared to walk in the various walks of life – from lawyer’s offices to personal evangelism.
We’re coming to the end of another week. Dave dressed up to attend court today, only to find the session canceled. I went for our weekly mail, and I think I waited in line for the light to change 6 times before getting through it! – Dave’s in the living room with a college student desirous for truth. He is not a Christian, nor does he attend our services or any others, but is knowledgeable about the Bible and has sincere questions. Pray he will find the Lord. His needs are great.
Please pray for this college student and for the Middletons.

Thankful for God’s goodness.
How He’s cared for our family
And allowed many blessings;
No doubt about it!
Knowing His protection in travel.
Seeing how He moves in many ways.
Going to new areas -
Invitations that for us become blessings.
Varied were our experiences.
Included in these were times with loved ones’
Nothing was omitted.
God is so good!
Doing our best to show our gratitude
As we go about each day,
Yes, we are thankful to God for His goodness!!
Taken from the Middletons newsletter.

The new addition to the Rickenbach family is growing and doing well. James writes that she has been back to the doctor for her first checkup and is gaining weight. Amanda Rose Rickenbach was very small when born and her weight dropped down to 4lb 12oz a few days after delivery; however, her weight is now back up to 5lbs 7oz. Amanda is feeding well and the family may be able to come home to the states for Christmas. Rachel is doing very well as well. We thank the Lord for this good news.

Putting on a new roof has been a major project in Jalapa. However, progress is being made. Br. Lee Rickenbach writes encouraging updates as follows: “After checking precip stats on my 2008 weather calendar from 1April – 31Oct, we had over 62 inches last year. We are running exactly half that amount over the same time period in 2009. However, it has rained over three inches almost every day in the last week. So buckets are still out catching drips. BUT… GOOD NEWS from a call just a few minutes ago… Curvotek starts on site here at the Leaky Apartments a week from tomorrow. Pray all will go well, and we’ll be giving our Lord extra THANKSgiving on the 26th under a new roof!
It would be tremendous if that could be accomplished by Thanksgiving.
