Sis. Irene Mauer has recovered sufficiently from pneumonia that she was able to go to prayer meeting last evening. We thank all of you who prayed for her during this serious illness. It may be awhile before she is back to full strength but no doubt within a few weeks she will be back to her regular self.

The McDowells finished a trimester in language school and had to leave the country to renew their visas. This is a common issue for foreign visitors until they receive a permanent visa. The Lord blessed them with a SUPER LOW plane fare – round trip – to the US. They surprised their family by making a quick trip back to the states. They are now safely back in Costa Rica. Now it is back to the books.

Bolivia — We’re very pleased and grateful that Elmer Sánchez and his family have decided to stay in Bolivia for an indefinite period of time. As you know, we have been very concerned about having the right kind of leadership there and had not found any missionaries to go. The nationals are very appreciative of what Elmer and his wife have done and told me when I was there in March not to let them leave.
Elmer told me on the first day of my visit that he had grown to like Bolivia and Bolivians, as had his family, and he has had a vision for the work and for the development of the pastors’ children as well as the churches themselves. When we were able to work some things out with the Sánchez family, they decided to remain. May the Lord bless their ministry in a great way!

Adamses to Nigeria — Leroy and Myrtle Adams worked in Nigeria back in the 1980s, teaching at what is now called West Africa Theological Seminary. They are returning to the school for a few weeks in May and early June as part of a 20th anniversary celebration semester. Have a great trip, Leroy and Myrtle! Enjoy seeing old friends and teaching young preachers and eating spicy Nigerian food.

Zack and Sarah Robberts and their two girls are probably in the air as I write. They were to depart from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, this morning to come home for their furlough. Larissa, the older daughter, is old enough to be excited about seeing Grandma, and I understand she thinks that Grandma Rundell has giraffes, elephants, and lions in her back yard. They better plan to go to the zoo real soon!
